What to see and do for 2 Nights in Budapest, Hungary
Budapest is the largest city in Hungary and is nicknamed "Paris of the East" and the "Pearl of the Danube". Buda and Pest are divided by the river Danube. Buda sits high on a hill with the Castle and the Fisherman's Bastion overlooking the river with the Hungarian Parliament across the other side. Pest is the modern part of the city, on the east side of the river, where there are no hills and getting around is easy. This is where you can find all the shops and the social life. Guess what? I stayed in the Pest side of the city.
In October 2014 my husband and I stayed in Budapest for 2 nights on our pre-cruise with AmaWaterways that took us from Budapest to Nuremberg. We stayed at the Intercontinental which overlooks the Danube. Stunning views and a must stay hotel when in Budapest. More stories about that in my next blog!
